If possible, most announcements should be printed so they do not take time in sacrament meeting; the bishopric may give essential announcements briefly before the opening hymn (see Handbook 2, 18.2.2).
Stake My Path to Self-Reliance Devotionals, Sunday, August 12th, 2:30pm and 4:30pm prior to new set of classes. Please consider attending a class for the first time or attending an additional class. The four classes available are Find a Better Job, Personal Finances, Education for Better Work, and Starting and Growing My Business.
Additional information to include in the ward bulletin, if so desired:
Find a Better Job: For those who are looking for work or a better job. Group members will learn to identify opportunities, network, present themselves professionally, and prepare for job interviews. They will also set goals for contacts and interviews.
Personal Finances: For those who want better control over their finances. Group members will learn how to eliminate debt, protect against financial hardship, and invest for the future. They will create a financial plan and follow a budget. Spouses are encouraged to attend together.
Education for Better Work: For those who need additional education or training to get a job. Group members will research, create, and present career and education plans. They will also spend time each week practicing skills that will help them be more effective learners.
Starting and Growing My Business: For those who already have a business or resources to start a business. Group members learn the traits and skills of successful small business owners. They practice record keeping, marketing, and cash management. They will talk with business owners, customers, and suppliers and develop plans to grow their business.

Stake Temple Open Baptistry Ward Assignments
Determine these volunteers WELL IN ADVANCE of the assigned date. These dates are when school is out and it is much more difficult to find volunteers if requests are delayed.
Stake Temple Night Assignments
Laundry: Given on ward temple nights, this assignment only requires 2 endowed volunteers. Volunteers should show up at the clothing rental counter when beginning their shift. The stake high councilor responsible for temple assignments will be in touch with the elders quorum presidency asking for the list of volunteers about a week before the actual assignment. It is recommended that the elders quorum presidency and relief society presidency help him find volunteers.
Endowments: Ward temple nights are assigned to Colorado Springs North Stake on the 1st Thursday of every month. We love to see endowment sessions full during our allotted time. Please make every effort to remind ward members advance so they can plan to attend. Each ward is requested to attend an endowment session time to prevent a bottleneck of too many people trying to fit into the same session. If ward members are unable to attend their assigned time, they are encouraged to come at a different time, instead of missing out on the opportunity to serve.
Light Cleaning: The temple recommends the volunteers attend the 7pm endowment session so they can begin cleaning after being able to serve as proxy. Each ward will provide 4 endowed volunteers (on the dates assigned above) who go to the clothing rental counter at 9pm.The volunteers will check out white clothing to clean, and they are recommended to bring light colored tennis shoes to help keep the temple clean. Volunteers are asked to stay until 11pm, but the temple usually asks members of our stake to leave by 10:30pm since we have a longer commute. This is a great assignment to perform with a friend/spouse and provides a different way to serve that helps volunteers appreciate all that goes in to creating a beautiful experience for all temple patrons. The elders quorum presidency has been designated to help coordinate volunteers. This does NOT mean that he is responsible for finding each of the volunteers; only that he will be in contacted by the stake high councilor responsible for temple work to obtain the list to give to the temple one week before the actual assignment. It is strongly recommended the elders quorum and relief society presidencies help find volunteers and provide these names to help lighten the load.
