Announcements should be communicated to members prior to Sunday so they do not take time in sacrament meeting, quorums, or classes; the bishopric may emphasize essential announcements briefly before the opening hymn (see Handbook 2, 18.2.2).
From Elder Quentin L. Cook's general conference talk Deep and Lasting Conversion to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ (after President Nelson's two-hour meeting block announcement), "To help members prepare for the Sabbath, some wards already send an informative email, text, or social media message midweek. In view of this adjustment, we strongly recommend this type of communication. These invitations will remind the members of the Sunday meeting schedule for that week, including the upcoming class lesson topic, and support continuing gospel conversation at home."
The online stake calendar provides event details: e.g. end times, participants invited, point of contact for questions, address, reserved building room(s), setup time, cleanup time, etc.

Unless an exception is noted below, all wards hold sacrament meeting first and ward weeknight activities are at the same building as Sunday meetings:
Ward Clerks and Auxiliary Secretaries,
Four times each year (Quarters ending in March, June, September, December) the ward clerk completes the Quarterly Report. The stake clerk works with the ward clerks to ensure that the report is submitted by the 15th of the following month after the end of each quarter.
Clerks may complete the Quarterly Report here or sign into leader.churchofjesuschrist.org and click on Quarterly Report from the Reports menu. Specific instructions for completing the report are available by clicking on each of the numbered links presented in the report.
Thank you for your diligence in making sure that Church records are accurately maintained.
The churchofjesuschrist.org online help for the quarterly report provides guidance and clarification to ward clerks and priesthood/auxiliary secretaries:
Policy and Principles
The Quarterly Report includes information for only the last month of each quarter.
The ward clerk or an assistant ward clerk prepares the report under the direction of the bishop. By the 10th of the month following the end of each quarter, quorum and auxiliary leaders or secretaries give attendance information for the previous month to the clerk so he can include it in the report. The bishop reviews the report for accuracy and makes sure the clerk submits it by the 15th of the month following the end of the quarter.
Indicators of Conversion and Church Growth
All of the information in the “Indicators of Conversion and Church Growth” section, except for the actual average sacrament meeting attendance, is provided automatically from Church headquarters. This section also includes the percentages relating to the information above from one year ago and five years ago to help leaders monitor trends.
Every number and statistic in the Quarterly Report represents an individual member who has unique needs and is used in tracking the progress of ward members and deciding how to strengthen the faith of individuals and families. The Ward Council should seek direction from the Lord as they consider who may need their help and what help to provide.
Sacrament Meeting Attendance
To determine the average sacrament meeting attendance, add the total number attending each sacrament meeting during the last month of the quarter and divide by the number of meetings held. Count all persons attending sacrament meeting, including members, nonmembers, and visitors. Do not count any ward members not in attendance, such as members serving missions, away performing other Church assignments, or attending other wards.
Quorum, Class, and Primary Attendance
For quorum, class, and Primary attendance, count each person who attended at least once during the last month of the quarter. Count only those who appear on the ward rolls, not visitors. Those who are unable to attend priesthood or Sunday Relief Society meetings because of a Church assignment are to be recorded as attending (including full-time missionaries serving from the ward).

It is that time of year to submit your 2019 Ward History which will be compiled into the 2019 Stake History.

Stake leaders, please submit your organization's DRAFT history for 2019 to the stake clerk by this same deadline.
Highlight what you feel was important and are inspired to include. If you are new to your calling during this year, you can reach out to the leaders that were serving this year to include their contributions to this write-up..

Don’t worry so much about the format. Just send me the info / stories, and the pictures / forms, and I’ll get it combined into a nice clean report for you to review before it is submitted to church headquarters.
If you have questions, feel free to contact me at any time: 719-649-8974.

On January 2, 2020, Leader and Clerk Resources will be updated with the following changes:
Sacrament meeting attendance:
As announced by the Office of the Presiding Bishopric on November 1, 2019, beginning January 1, 2020, ward and branch clerks should begin counting sacrament meeting attendance each week and recording it in Leader and Clerk Resources. This can be done by selecting "Sacrament Meeting Attendance" under the Reports menu. The ability to record sacrament meeting attendance using the Member Tools application will be available in the coming weeks.
Aaronic Priesthood:
To support the Aaronic Priesthood organization changes announced in General Conference, the ward Young Men organization and those called to the Young Men Presidency are being removed. Those currently called as Advisers will remain in that calling. Those currently called as Assistant Quorum Advisers will become Quorum Specialists. After January 2, 2020, please review the adult leader callings within the Aaronic Priesthood organization and make any necessary updates. If you have already recorded Specialists as custom callings, you will need to delete those entries and record them using the standard Specialist calling. Individuals in custom callings will not have access to needed functionality in Leader and Clerk Resources and Member Tools.
