Updates to the Stake Calendar of Events

• Stake Child of Record Baptisms, Saturday, June 30th move from the Lexington building to the Jamboree building (this day only).

If possible, most announcements should be printed so they do not take time in sacrament meeting; the bishopric may give essential announcements briefly before the opening hymn (see Handbook 2, 18.2.2).

• Temple Closed: July 1st though July 16th, reopens Tuesday, July 17th.

• Tri-Stake Super Saturday Youth Conference: All Youth ages 12-18, July 21, 9a-10p @ Discovery Canyon Campus, 1810 North Gate Blvd. All youth are invited to attend, even if they aren’t performing in the Tri-Stake Youth Celebration. Activities include: games, service, pizza lunch, performance practice (for youth involved in the performance), ending with an evening dance (ages 14-18). Most activities will be outdoors, weather permitting. Dress appropriately. Youth may also invite a friend.

• Tri-Stake Youth Celebration: Saturday, July 28, at the Pikes Peak Center. Performances at 2pm and 6pm. Youth will be sharing their talents through dance, vocal and instrumental musical numbers, sports and visual arts.

Ward Quarterly Reports due no later than July 15th

Four times each year (Quarters ending in March, June, September, December) the ward clerk completes the Quarterly Report. The stake clerk works with the ward clerks to ensure that the report is submitted by the 15th of the following month after the end of each quarter.

Specific instructions for completing the report are available by clicking on each of the numbered links presented in the report.

First Presidency letter, 20 June 2018: Guidelines for Interviewing Youth

Guidelines for youth interviews have been updated, and question 7 for limited-use recommends has been simplified. The enclosure includes the changes that will soon be made to Handbook 1 online and in the Gospel Library.

Notice, 18 June 2018: Hymns and Children’s Songbook Revisions

Committees have been assembled to recommend revisions to the current hymnbook and children’s songbook. When the revisions are complete, there will be one hymnbook and one children’s songbook, offering the same hymns and songs in all languages.
