We invite children ages 3–11, their parents, and Primary leaders and teachers to participate in a Friend to Friend event. This is a Face to Face–style event for children.
It will include music and activities as well as messages by President Russell M. Nelson, members of the Primary General Presidency, and Elder Ulisses Soares. You may view or download it any time after its initial launch.
We invite parents to view this event with their children when convenient (during the live broadcast, during home evening, on Sunday, or at another time). We also encourage Primary leaders and teachers to share this event with children, especially those who may not be watching with their parents.
Depending on local circumstances and government restrictions, priesthood leaders may encourage children, parents, and leaders to gather in homes, meetinghouses, or other locations to participate. The event could also be shown in a Primary activity. Priesthood leaders should follow the counsel of local and government leaders on gathering at the time of this event.
The event will be broadcast on ChurchofJesusChrist.org, YouTube, Facebook, BYUtv, and other channels. After the live broadcast, you may view or download it through face2face.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, YouTube, and other media. A broadcast schedule will be sent approximately three weeks before the event.
During the event, children will be invited to participate in activities. It may help to have a piece of paper, drawing utensils, and scriptures nearby.

9. Colorado Springs Home Storage Center (Bishop Storehouse) normal weekly schedule:
Wednesday: 4pm-7pm
Thursday: 9am-12pm
Saturday: 9am-11am
Most announcements should be electronically distributed weekly prior to Sunday so they do not take time in sacrament meeting; the bishopric may give essential announcements briefly before the opening hymn (see General Handbook 29.2.2.2).
From Elder Quentin L. Cook's general conference talk Deep and Lasting Conversion to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ (after President Nelson's two-hour meeting block announcement), "To help members prepare for the Sabbath, some wards already send an informative email, text, or social media message midweek. In view of this adjustment, we strongly recommend this type of communication. These invitations will remind the members of the Sunday meeting schedule for that week, including the upcoming class lesson topic, and support continuing gospel conversation at home."
The online stake calendar provides event details: e.g. event start and end times, participants invited, point of contact for questions, address, reserved building room(s), setup time, cleanup time, etc.
Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery received additional knowledge as they prayed about truths they learned in the scriptures (see Joseph Smith—History 1:68). How will you follow their example?

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
This week I read a story about a brother who was listening to a lesson in Elders Quorum. The instructor mentioned that his good, kind wife felt like she just wasn’t going to make it to the Celestial Kingdom. The instructor said he was baffled. He felt somewhat confident that he would make it — after all, he did his home teaching nearly every month.
As this brother shared his Elders Quorum experience with his wife later that day — especially the part about the home teaching – they both chuckled. They both agreed, that while this good brother was a good enough guy and a serious rule-stickler, his wife had the reputation of being an absolute saint and was always ready to reach out and help wherever it was needed. They both wished that they could somehow assure this sister that she was terrific, awesome, and seriously, had nothing to worry about. From a distance, it was easy for others to see how wonderful this woman was. But still, she felt like she wasn’t measuring up.
Oh, brothers and sisters, that each of us could see ourselves through the eyes of others. Even more importantly, that we could see ourselves through the eyes of our ever kind and loving Heavenly Father. And not just see what our potential is but see exactly where our heart is.
Our Heavenly Father has a different standard by which he measures each one of us. When it came time to choose a king to replace King Saul, the Lord gave this criterion to his prophet Samuel: “Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; … for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” (1 Sam. 16:7.) Have you ever wondered, why our Heavenly Father chose the heart? Perhaps, because the heart is synonymous with one’s entire makeup. We often use phrases about the heart to describe the total person… “big-hearted”, “goodhearted” or having a “heart of gold”. Similarly, we speak of people with faint hearts, wise hearts, pure hearts, willing hearts, deceitful hearts, conniving hearts, courageous hearts, cold hearts, hearts of stone, or selfish hearts. The measure of our hearts appears to be the measure of our total self. As used by the Lord, the “heart” of a person seems to describe the effort to better themselves, better others, or better the things they confront.
A little over three years ago, during the October General Conference, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland offered some important counsel about being able to return to our Heavenly Father and measuring ourselves too harshly, that we think is worth sharing again. We have provided an excerpt of his message in written form below and also as a link to a brief video that could easily be reviewed and shared with family and friends or even posted on social media.
As you read or listen to this message, might you consider your heart and the measurement by which you judge yourself and others within your own family and those around you. We promise and bear our witness that there is safety in following the counsel of living prophets.

Be Ye Therefore Perfect—Eventually, By Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
“Have you noticed that every now and then a passage will appear that reminds us we are falling a little short? “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father … in heaven is perfect.” Such celestial goals seem beyond our reach. Yet surely the Lord would never give us a commandment He knew we could not keep."
...
"Around the Church I hear many who struggle with this issue: “I am just not good enough.” “I fall so far short.” “I will never measure up.” I believe in His perfection, and I know we are His spiritual sons and daughters with divine potential to become as He is. I also know that, as children of God, we should not demean or vilify ourselves, as if beating up on ourselves is somehow going to make us the person God wants us to become. That is not what the Lord wants for Primary children or anyone else who honestly sings, “I’m trying to be like Jesus.”
...
"How grateful I am that at least God can bless those who despitefully use Him because, without wanting or intending to do so, we all despitefully use Him sometimes. I am grateful that God is merciful and a peacemaker because I need mercy and the world needs peace. Our only hope for true perfection is in receiving it as a gift from heaven—we won’t “earn” it. Every one of us is a debtor, and the verdict was imprisonment for every one of us. And there we would all have remained were it not for the grace of a King who sets us free because He loves us and is “moved with compassion toward us.”
...
"Except for Jesus, there have been no flawless performances on this earthly journey we are pursuing, so while in mortality let’s strive for steady improvement without obsessing over what behavioral scientists might call “toxic perfectionism.” We should avoid that latter excessive expectation of ourselves and of others."
...
"Every one of us aspires to a more Christlike life than we often succeed in living. If we admit that honestly and are trying to improve, we are not hypocrites; we are human. May we refuse to let our own mortal follies, and the inevitable shortcomings of even the best men and women around us, make us cynical about the truths of the gospel, the truthfulness of the Church, our hope for our future, or the possibility of godliness. If we persevere, then somewhere in eternity our refinement will be finished and complete—which is the New Testament meaning of perfection."
...
"I testify of that grand destiny, made available to us by the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, who Himself continued “from grace to grace” until in His immortality, He received a perfect fulness of celestial glory. I testify that in this and every hour, He is, with nail-scarred hands, extending to us that same grace, holding on to us and encouraging us, refusing to let us go until we are safely home in the embrace of Heavenly Parents. For such a perfect moment, I continue to strive, however clumsily. For such a perfect gift, I continue to give thanks, however inadequately. I do so in the very name of Perfection itself, of Him who has never been clumsy or inadequate but who loves all of us who are, even the Lord Jesus Christ, amen."

Many bishops’ offices, clerks’ offices, and meetinghouse resource centers contain excess and outdated materials. In considering what to discard, please refer to the list of meetinghouse resource center materials and guidelines on what to discard. Please also consider the following:
With the introduction of Come, Follow Me, many manuals have been replaced, including Primary 1–7, Gospel Doctrine, and youth Sunday School manuals.
The new Children and Youth program has replaced materials associated with Scouting, Duty to God, Personal Progress, and Faith in God.
Online processes in Leader and Clerk Resources (LCR) have replaced most administrative forms.
Clerks and resource center specialists should identify materials that are not being used regularly or that will not be used again and discard them or offer them to members for use at home. Clerks can also shred outdated stationery, forms, or sensitive materials.
The ready availability of audio conferencing and video conferencing solutions allows local ecclesiastical leaders to conduct virtual meetings with councils or members while avoiding an increase in technology costs for the Church. Local leaders are encouraged to use a free, reputable solution that works best in their area. Some possible options may include:
Google Hangouts or Google Hangouts Meet
Zoom
Webex
Facebook Messenger
Skype
These solutions should be adequate to meet most virtual meeting needs. If these tools are unfamiliar, it is recommended that leaders test their preferred solution before hosting actual meetings.
Consider the following when selecting and using virtual meeting technologies:
Understand the time and participant limits of your selected platform
Use good lighting for a better video conference experience
Minimize background noise and other potential distractions
Encourage everyone to mute their microphones when not speaking
Be sensitive to confidential information, and avoid recording meetings
If a leader has an account with a videoconferencing platform from their employment, they should ensure they have their employer’s approval before using that platform for Church purposes. Be aware that employer administrators may have access to personal meetings. In all cases, leaders should consider confidentiality and safeguard the personal information of members and others. Please share this information with the leaders in your wards and stake.
